Friday morning I found a mosquito frozen to the roof of my car after an unexpected frost. Since the light was poor and I did have that pesky JOB thing to go to, I collected him up for later photographing. It turned out to be well worth the trouble of keeping him intact for a couple of days.

Brilliant
Thanks, newsferret.
Nice! A dead mosquito is the only good mosquito
Looks like he’s bowing to the frost gods…nice shot!
I can only imagine how hard it was to keep this tiny thing intact long enough to photography it. Good work!
Well, they’re pretty delicate. Ironically, I wrapped it in a bit of junkmail that I’d fetched from the mailbox the day before. Who says such mail spam is useless!!!?!?
As a biologist, I must say that this is all kinds of awesome. Great work!
Thanks, Macy. That is high praise indeed!
Amazing shots
Very cool shoots.
Great detail. Really like it. I wish all mozzies would freeze
Scary thing. Nice shot.
Great shots! I’ve seen bugs with fans on their faces like this before. Any idea what they’re for?
